I'm delighted to be joining The Hermes Experiment to play Camillo and Antigonus in A Winter's Tale at the Aldeburgh Music Festival, directed by the wonderful Nina Brazier ("one of Britain's leading young directors of opera" The Observer). We'll do one performance there at the Jerwood Kiln Studio and then another at The Cockpit in London on the 13th December.
"On an Aldeburgh Residency The Hermes Experiment develop their new interpretation of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. Reducing the play to an hour’s duration in collaboration with director Nina Brazier and composer Kim Ashton, the quartet of musicians become part of the drama alongside a group of actors. This Open Session will explore the progress they have made during their residency.
“The performance was meticulously nuanced, witty and chic.” **** The Times
“This clever mix of instruments is more versatile than you might first think.” **** The Observer
